<aside> 👉 Resolution & Frame Rate
• Go to: Settings>Camera>Record Video • Set it to 4K at 24fps for cinematic looks or 4K at 60fps for smoother motion. Nico Tip: Higher resolution results in sharper videos, while 24fps gives a more traditional film look.

<aside> 📱 HDR Video • Go to: Settings>Camera>Record Video > Toggle HDR Video • Turn on for better brighter and more vibrant colors, especially in outdoor settings. Note: Be cautious, as HDR video can cause issues in post-editing if not supported.

<aside> 👉 ProRAW & ProRes (iPhone 12 Pro and later) • Go to: Settings>Camera>Formats • Turn on Apple Pro RAW and Pro Res if you can. Nico Tip: ProRAW gives you greater editing flexibility, and ProRes is for high-quality video recording.

<aside> ☀️ Locking Exposure & Focus
• In the Camera app: Tap and hold the screen where you want to focus until you see “AE/AF Lock.” • Always lock focus and exposure when shooting to avoid noticeable shifts in focus and lighting during recording. Nico Tip: Adjust exposure by swiping up or down on the sun icon after locking focus.

<aside> 📸 Wide Lense (0.5x) Pros
• Has the biggest sensor which offers the highest image quality.
• Best for situations with a lot of light (outdoors, well lit studios.)
• Great for tiny areas because it will give the appearance of a larger space
Cons
• Extremely poor low light performance.
• Do not use when trying to film a close up because the lense will add distortion.
• If you want to emphasize a background do not use this lense it makes everything behind you appear smaller than it really is.

<aside> 📸 Standard Lense (1x)
Pros
• Best for low light situations.
• I use this whenever I need to film a POV shot or an up-close of me doing something.
• Great for most situations especially Broll shots or most cinematic shots.
Cons
• Can overexpose (make things appear extremely bright) outdoors where the sun is visible.
• I do not use this in small areas because it makes everything appear smaller.

<aside> 📸 Telephoto (2x-3x)
Pros
• Great for extremely up close shots that need extra detail.
• Emphasizes the background of a video so if you want to emphasize the background behind something in a video stand farther back and zoom in.
Cons
• Focus locking on this lense can be tricky as it will want to focus on other things.

<aside> 👉 Cinematic Mode • In Camera app: Select Cinematic Mode for smooth focus transitions. • Great for vlog-style or dynamic shots with moving subjects. Nico Tip: For the best stabilization turn on Action Mode in the top right (a man running)

<aside> 👉 Framing Rule (Rule of Thirds)
• Go to: Settings>Camera>Toggle Grid
This will turn on a 3x3 grid on your camera screen.
To make the most cinematic looking videos aim to have your subject on 1 of those 4 places where the lines intersect.\

<aside> ⚙️ Bit rate & Resolution
Editing Apps- For apps like CapCut and InShot the rule of thumb is to always export at 1080p and using the highest bitrate
Computer Software- The only reason I prefer computer software is because I can control what bit rate to export at. I usually use a 16-24mbs rate
